Preseli Hills and Gwaun Valley Driving Loop

Cross the Preseli Hills on the B4329 and return through the Gwaun-side countryside. The high road and the more enclosed valley lanes create a strong contrast within a compact Pembrokeshire circuit.

Preseli Hills

The B4329 crosses exposed upland country above the lower Pembrokeshire landscape.

Gwaun Valley

The smaller valley roads create a wooded contrast to the Preseli crossing.

Before you set off

Narrow valley lanes and exposed uplands require care. The Golden Road is a walking route, not a road to drive. Check current road closures, vehicle suitability and weather before travel. Driving time excludes stops and live traffic. The route follows through-roads; all visits off the line are independent optional detours.
