Highlights along the way
Dungeness and Romney Marsh
The shingle headland is a deliberate stopping-point detour within the larger journey.
Beachy Head
Open coastal downland provides the western landscape highlight; walks need suitable parking.
The Weald
The inland return links wooded hills and historic village approaches.
Before you set off
A very long day of driving: split over two days if making several attraction visits. Urban coast sections can be slow. Dungeness is an intentional destination spur. Check current road closures and conditions before travel. Driving time is an estimate without stops or live traffic. The plotted route follows the driving roads. Nearby towns, attractions and photo subjects are optional independent visits; leave and rejoin the route only if you choose. No stop detours are included in the driving line.
