Leave Lewes for the folds of the South Downs and the Alfriston area, then return along the Cuckmere and Seaford side of the hills. This is a varied country circuit with a coastal landscape section.

The coast-road section crosses the broad valley near Seven Sisters; the classic cliff views require a separate walk.

Do not expect continuous sea views. Use official parking for Cuckmere and cliff walks; keep away from cliff edges. Check current road closures and conditions before travel.
