Highlights along the way

Holme Moss

The A6024 climbs above Holmfirth before dropping towards the Woodhead corridor.

Strines Moor

Mortimer Road provides the smaller, twisting moorland finish between the A57 and A616.

Before you set off

The Strines anchor is on Mortimer Road, not in the inn car park. Narrow blind bends, cyclists and winter conditions need care. Check current road closures, vehicle suitability and weather before travel. Driving time excludes stops and live traffic. The route follows through-roads; all visits off the line are independent optional detours.
